Our ambition is to develop a Network of Circular Economy Villages around Australia

Our network of Circular Economy Villages (CEVs) will:

  1. Provide affordable housing,

  2. Reduce the cost of living for residents,

  3. Expedite the transition to renewable energy,

  4. Create a network of electric vehicle charging stations,

  5. Create a network of circular economy, waste-to-resource micro-factories,

  6. Enable the development of a network of biodiverse, regenerative farms,

  7. Care for Country and regenerate natural ecosystems within and adjoining the CEVs.

We are creating precincts that seek to deliver transformative investment in regional, rural and remote Australia based on the aims of unifying regional places, supporting their economies and serving their communities.

Bellingen Pilot Project

Strategic town planning consultancy, PolisPlan, have been working with Bellingen Shire Council for several years, proposing that their Growth Management Strategy include an action to enable the development of an eco-village project that could inform future housing policy. The action was included in Council’s housing strategy and in 2022, PolisPlan undertook a comprehensive process, funded by NSW State Govt., to develop the necessary planning policies. For more detail see FAQs.

Planting the seeds for projects around the country

PolisPlan have been connecting with communities and Councils around Australia, researching, doing presentations, exploring best practice and incorporating numerous innovations into the CEV model. They have identified potential locations and supportive communities for the development of CEVs around Australia. As the Bellingen pilot project advances, CEVCO will seek to initiate further projects in these locations to develop a pipeline of CEV projects.

A network of waterholes connected by songlines

The concept of a network of CEVs has been drawn from an Indigenous worldview that views the landscape as a network of waterholes connected by songlines. Connection to Country is understood as living within, and in alignment with, local ecological cycles of all life. PolisPlan have worked with First Nations communities, one of which had recently obtained Native Title rights. Their brief was to support them to move back on Country, blending ancient wisdom with modern technology. CEVCO proposes to work with First Nations communities, building CEVs for communities on their land.
